In-Reply-To: Message-ID: <531674.45764.qm@web52011.mail.re2.yahoo.com> Dear Christian, Thanks for forwarding this article. Yes, Bhikku Bodhipal the superintendent of the Mahabodhi Temple (not the ?chief priest? as there is no such position) has been indicted for allegedly selling a branch of the Bodhi Tree, and he has recently resigned from his post. As all of you know politics are complicated here and many layered. It is possible that he profited from his position illegally; however, it is also true that many court cases here are launched for political and personal reasons. Time will tell which is the case in this instance. At present I am still in India, finishing up the Antioch program for this fall here in Bodh Gaya. This is the pilgrimage season for the Tibetans and there are several thousand monks here now holding a prayer festival for world peace led by H.H. Karmapa. It is very inspiring to see them all chanting together, and the local bazaar is full of amazing looking Tibetan people from different areas of the Himalayas.
