In my day, 1953-58, she was "Mom" Dick too. My major memory of her was at registration times. We would stand on long lines waiting to register for different courses. When you got to "Mom" Dick she would check your records and if there were any unpaid fees, you would have to leave the line and start all over again. I always managed to have overdue book fines and returned to the back of the line many a time. When it came time for graduation, I was sure "Mom" Dick would find something and I wouldn't be able to graduate. I was very careful with my books that year. I think she congratulated me in line with a twinkle in her eye! A fine lady.
