On this I certainly agree.  I don't really believe one can easily  merge the 
efforts to earn credentials so as to make a decent life in the  framework of 
the contemporary world with the essence of a Quality Liberal  Arts Education.  
But I would not use the term garbage.  That is an  attack on Status, Caste and 
Class, as things go in our society as currently  established.  
 
However you would not complete a Social History course with me even if you  
were a non-traditional student, without being exposed to some of these ideas,  
...some of that DNA.  The point is how do you deal with all the child care  
and absent husband and welfare rules and still accomplish something  
educational?  And yes, how do you do it in an unfavorable political  environment?  My 
point is you don't need to tear others down to save our  college.
