Today's Univ. Announcement

It is good to hear directly from the ACCC on the status of negotiations. I
paste in a link below to just one of many press articles following the
announcement that suggests the Antioch University Board of Trustees is doing
more than simply re-affirming the June 2007 suspension decision. There
appears to be coordinated press campaign to again shift blame for the dire
financial condition of the College away from the AU BoT and AU Central
Administration and onto the College itself, once again suggesting that
Antioch College had somehow failed of its own accord. Responsibility for
the state of Antioch College rests firmly with the AU BoT and the
Administration that reports to it. They owe a fiduciary "duty of care" to
all the constituent parts of AU, the most important of which remains the
College. I believe that all available evidence suggests that the current
condition of the College indicates a significant breach of the key fiduciary
obligation of care on the part of the Trustees, and that they should be more
concerned about that breach than the oft-stated concern that release of the
College and its assets to the ACCC would somehow constitute a breach of
fiduciary obligation to AU that would leave them open to personal lawsuits.
In my view, that is a completely backwards assessment of the situation.
