Greetings, All,

These last two Saturdays of the Black Film Festival promise to be
excellent events.


The film this Saturday at 4,
Hip Hop Beats and Rhymes


Is a very well known and well respected documentary that examines hip hop
music from many perspectives.
I have not seen it (I look forward to that!!) but I understand
it challenges both fans and non fans of hip hop.


So, alert your teenagers!


The final show is a film and a filmmaker I know very well.


The film is Sisters in Cinema, 4 PM, which will introduce you to all of
the women feature film directors who at African American, and show
you their work.


The filmmaker, Yvonne Welbon, is a scholar, and very engaging speaker.


Yvonne will also be giving a producers talk from 1-3 PM at the new
McGregor.
