Hey, Travis,
>. . . I have to admit, and feel considerable loathing for it, that pragmatism is going to win the day. Anger can and has sustained my energy to stay active in the struggle but showing it to the AUBoT and blaming the AB for collaboration will yield the same result: failure. This battle between idealism and pragmatism is a nasty place to be.
Look on the bright side pragmatism may enable us to keep something reasonably close to the College we remember and love open and running. If part of the price means allowing the University administration to plea bargain their way to immunity, it's cheap at the price. While I wish there was more transparency in the process, that very lack of transparency may enable the University administration to retreat from their untenable position. I'm feeling more hopeful than I have in a while, and I'm very much looking forward to reviewing the drafts of the plans that the Alumni Board has promised to distribute.
The adolescent side of me, the side that likes quick and dirty solutions, longs for some vigilante action, some people's justice meted out by an Alumni Court and publicized on YouTube. The adult in me will settle for any solution that keeps the College open without turning too many of its assets into condos.
