Hi from Yazz (David Roger) Allen '66 (YazzAllen at Yahoo.Com)!

The interest people are expressing in creating a fund raiser sound recording and possibly additional features part of ANTIOCHIANS FOLK DANCE CD's and/or Audio Tapes is great.

I taught folk dancing at Antioch College during Saturday Red Square based workshops, and can still remember basic steps to about half of the 71 dance songs I recorded in 1999 at the Antioch Alumni Reunion that year. I'd be glad to help out with instructions for the dances if that becomes part of what is offered.

The four hour dances from 8 PM to Midnight we did in the early 60's when I was DanceMaster or assisted other DanceMasters (Dave Sommer '63, Andy O'Hare 66, and sometimes Stan Issacs '62 would would return to the campus after his 1962 graduation for teaching workshops he led) included about 60 different dances, not one repeated the whole evening.

I have ready-to-go recordings of 71 dance songs/ instrumentals and the 60 we'd dance to on Friday nights at Antioch included the music in this package.
