[Alumni-chat] Antiochiana! -- The location of the "68 Cafe!":in Yellow Springs, Ohio

  Hi from Yazz (David Roger) Allen '66 (YazzAllen at Yahoo.Com)! 
   
  Thanks for kind words I received about Antiochiana and Antioch history I described on the Antioch College alumni chatline, and also for asking about the location of the 68 Cafe!
   
  It was located in downtown Yellow Springs, Ohio on Xenia Avenue right next to the railroad track crossing of Xenia Ave.  Down near Joe Holly's Cleaners and the "Bakery."  Located on the western side of Xenia Avenue.  A sort of upscale Pizza Shop seems to be located there presently, part of the newly (since the 60's) created "Yuppie" ambience of Yellow Ssprings, Ohio, which has become one of the big Yuppie locations/ destinations of the Greater Dayton, Ohio area in recent times.  Real estate has skytocketed in YSO, poor people can't afford to live there anymore, and the shops and eating places on Xenia Avenue cater to the newly arrived rich people, and have a noticeable case of the "quaints" not seen  in past times.
   
  If Linda Shepherd of CAMPUS TRAMP were a 20 year old "Clifton College" (Antioch College) co-ed in 1959,  she'd be 68 years old this year!  How many ladies of those times with Linda's love life history (never admitted in their old age!) now visit today's WalMart hair salons to get the grey shoved out of their hair, and muse that grey hair removal never crossed their minds back in 1959?
   
  Today's Interstate Highway system is choked with overcrowded traffic.  I live very near Interstate 83 which goes from Harrisburg PA to Baltimore MD USA and is almost gridlocked at 3 AM daily when it becomes exclusively for truck traffic.  Smarter truckers learn about the old US Highway system (including US 68 from Cincinnati to Detroit) and use these old road in preference to the newer (and often more crowded) Interstate Roads.
