Possible update since that was posted: the College Revival Fund did file for
and did receive status as a nonprofit organization in the State of Ohio. The
Legal Committee is close to completing Form 1023, the filing for federal
501(c)(3) status. The federal government normally allows "retroactive"
deductions when the nonprofit receives standing w/in 15 months or so.

Of course, monies in the CRF are being used judiciously, following
appropriate procedure, in order to meet the mission in the Resolution; that
is:

-          The all-alumni (12,000 or so) mailing that was done earlier this
month

-          Purchase of a web-based database  - because there is still no
direct access to any donor info in the Development Office database (it also
does not have remote capability)

-          Per the proposal last weekend: Help to reimburse the College for
getting the Development Office back up to par so we really CAN raise the
dollars needed (Staff now down to 4.5 total for all Development and Alumni
Relations, including Annual Fund), etc. "

My husband would like to sign up to give and his
company will match if it has 501(c)3 status.
