Hi from Yazz (David Roger) Allen '66 (YazzAllen at Yahoo.Com)!

I'd like to encourage ALL who post on WWW.Antiochians.Org and also on the Antioch College alumni chatlist to post on EVERY Antioch College interest website available.

One of these is WWW.AntiRecord.Org, previously titled WWW.AntiochSucks.Com and founded in 1998 by one of Antioch's true saints, Daniel D. "Yazz" Atlas, Antioch class of 1997.

It is the OLDEST (founded in 1998) Antioch College interest/ watchdog website, and because Dan Atlas is a true techie (makes a handsome living doing computer expert tech work in the SF CA USA Bay area these days), the site tranmits all on it to BIG search engines like WWW.Google.Com. THAT means what you write gets to everyone, not just Antioch alumni enthusiasts.

WWW.AntiRecord.Org site is a good example of a very well set up website, very user friendly. The name was changed from WWW.AntiochSucks.Com to WWW.AntiRecord.Org last year.

So very important to get the word about Antioch College, Ohio (founded in 1953.....NOT just 1978, which is true of "Antioch University"....the left wing University of Phoenix giving us all so many headaches these days!).

  OK!

Here is some Antioch College history. Every Antiochians should gather his/her OWN collection of "Antiochiana" and trade it, publicize it to other Antiochians. The following is an example (from my own [Yazz Allen speaking here, in case you forgot!] considerable Antiochiana collection!):

From my Antioch College History Calendar created in 1975:

"The very first commencement ceremony for Antioch College occurred in 1857. Among the grads were 15 students from Oberlin College in Ohio who had transferred to Antioch (following St. Olympia Brown's wonderful example...she transferred from Mt. Holyoke College, Massachusetts USA) to protest the unequal treatment of women at Oberlin College.

"At the time this occured, it was still illegal for males and females to visit the Glen on the same day. Men and women were charged with visiting the Glen only every other day....so as to avoid meeting each other unchaparoned!"

  Best wishes always,
  Yazz (David Roger) Allen '66
