While our hope was simple, the continuation of
operations  at Antioch College, the details on how
that needs to happen is not. It is my understanding
that documents are being drawn up and circulated for
review by the boards. The difficulties came in how
significant a change this is for the institution- a
full shift in governance and legal and financial
responsibility. If we simply said "here's the money,
continue operations", that decision is a simple one,
and doesn't require negotiations of responsibility.

The board has a conference call schedule at 5pm
Tuesday evening, which is apparently the first
opportunity for board quorum. There are many legal
details and agreements to be hammered out. And lawyers
that aren't on negotiating teams don't work for cheap
on weekends.. :)

Not to say I agree with the need or the delay,because
I believe if they'd gotten the vote to continue out of
the way it would be 1000% better to the health of the
institution,  but I understand for some needs time to
draw up documents is required.
