I have two memories of beer at the Tavern. On my 21st birthday I was on
crutches after a touch football injury. I hobbled from campus for my first
legal (6 point beer in Ohio).

When I was an assistant instructor I led a section of Life Science 101.
Since we were discussing alcohol and other substances, I held the class at
the Tavern. Those under 21 drank non-alcoholic beverages. Most of those over
21 ordered beer.  The next day Dean Alexander called me in for a chat.
"Imaginative, Art. But don't do it again."
