Actually Star Island (http://www.starisland.org/) was on the coop list  
for a number of years. I got it added after my first summer out there  
in 1988 since I pushed and did all the footwork to get it added (I  
think Tom Haugsby added it mostly to shut me up). I know several  
students in the early mid 90's worked out there and they kept coming  
back so I assume they found it rewarding.

I know it's not on the current list since it's not in one of the few  
coop community locations :(

I cant speak highly enough for the Star Island staff community and how  
much i learned from living in an isolated community on the island over  
the summer. And yes I met Emily, my wife, out there back in 1990. We  
go back to visit whenever we can. Great place. Very Antiochian :)
