Yes, there are many "ah ha!" moments that situations of the past
repeat themselves. While the institution seems to be able to
occasionally overcome problems in the short term, generally it
seems to forget the lessons of the past and starts to commit the
same mistakes again. Witness our current trustees & University
Admin- they still reach for the most drastic means of dealing
with a problem, and didn't learn from the precipitous
announcement of the closure. Not recruiting new students is the
most drastic means to deal with financial instability, and only
leads to increased financial instability.

Anyways, here's a quote from Antioch's past. Tomorrow I'll tell
you who said it and when.

------------------------------------

Four basic options exist:
First, close the Campus on the assumption that Antioch
(University) cannot provide adequate financing.

The surface advantages of this option are spurious. One runs the
risk of massively diluting the value of the Antioch degree
wherever conferred by closing the center at which that value was
first accrued.
The close-down costs in purchase of contracts, costs of
expectable litigation, the transvaluation of College assets,
both real property and academic reputation, which follow upon
closing the Campus all argue against this option.
