Hi from Yazz (David) Allen '66 (YazzAllen at Yahoo.Com)!

If I stuck with things which were "my bag" (?) I'd never leave the WASP world which spawned me and dumped my family into Virginia 1645. One of the things which marks intelligent people (me) is curiousity about things about which only partial knowledge is possessed.

And....sourpuss Thanos and Stan......the point of a chatline like this, or at least a possible benefit of it at its best is cordial exchange of new information in a tolerant and encouraging atmosphere. How about contributing rather than carrot up the ass complaints?

Well, no more gracious talk from me about this.

BTW, here's the Wikipedia opening sentence about the Ottoman Empire, which, sure as hell, was Turkish dominated and ruled:

"The Ottoman Empire or Ottoman Caliphate (1299–1922) (Old Ottoman Turkish: دولت عالیه عثمانیه Devlet-i Âliye-yi Osmâniyye, Late Ottoman and Modern Turkish: Osmanlı Devleti or Osmanlı İmparatorluğu, also known as the Turkish Empire or Turkey by its contemporaries, see the other names of the Ottoman State), was a multi-ethnic and multi-religious Turkish-ruled state"

  Best,
  Yazz (David) Allen '66
