I went to the reunion with friends from 90's and 00's last weekend. We went
up to the second floor of the union and i saw current students filling mops
and buckets, another student washing the floor in the billiards room. we
asked what they were doing (i'm sorry but you just don't see that many 20
year olds from any college instigating a mop-fest) and they explained that
they wanted to make it nice for returning alums. later that night the
current students and CMs threw us the Best Dance Party Ever. it was
ridiculous. what i saw over the weekend and just in general were thoughtful
community minded young people who seemed to be really very smart and engaged
in their education.

It is a terrible shame that current students have gotten some bad press.
the best way to counteract it is to stay positive. just like anyplace,
there is always some student who gives a place a black eye. Here in
Columbus its OSU students who burn couches and wear shirts of Brutus Buckeye
sexually molesting Michigan cheerleaders. I'll take an mouthy anarchist
over that any day.
