The latest brouhaha vindicates those of us who endorsed Katy Jako's attempts to make Antioch the centerpiece of the so-called University. The talks with the Board's negotiator, Joan Straumanis, were doomed to failure because, I believe, they were not conducted in good faith. I've seen stalling tactics used before in the hope that the issue will go away. The Board wanted to project an image of reasonableness but never intended ceeding power back to the College.
