It's just that AB has been parent-childed to death by AU, so the alumni may believe that raising thunder from the mount is premature and would paint them into a corner (quibbling, petulant child). The AB isn't setting the agenda -- they can't force a BOT meeting or, as guests, set terms. And earth-shattering statements stand out when they're made by people who aren't always releasing them. Otherwise it's humorous and akin to announcing the apocalypse every 15 minutes.
